Winter Sonata Anime Airing on October 17!

So I did change my header. LOL Just for this one, Joongie. And who says Korean drama and Japanese anime cannot go together?I was looking for anime releases this spring and look what chartfag gave me:

Wheew. I cannot watch all of these but what I'm rooting for since years ago is Winter Sonata. I followed the K-drama series when I was in high school and it hit me like a winter storm. Bae Yong Joon was like my on-screen crush before and I when I've learned that he had something going on with co-star Choi Ji Woo I truly hoped they will marry. XD Ahhh~! I so love happy endings.

Winter Sonata (Fuyu no Sonata) anime episode previews have already streamed on their animation official website. What I love about this anime is that the stars of its original Korean TV romance drama were its voice actors/ actresses or "seiyuu". So it still has its original feel.

The original 2002 drama follows a girl named Yu Jin Jung and her male classmate Joon Sang Kang as tragedy and angst befalls them and those around them in the years between high school and young adulthood. The 2004 Japanese broadcast triggered the ongoing "Korean wave" of pop culture in Japan and turned the lead actor Yong Joon Bae into a superstar among Japanese female viewers. The Japanese publisher Ohzora Publishing Co. eventually imported and translated the drama's manhwa adaptation under the title Winter Love Song.

And that was the start of the Hallyu wave in Japan. Weee~ Thanks to that, I've come to know the best boy band in the world through Japanese entertainment!

The animation looks great! I'm sure the story is already ten, I'm looking forward to the dialogue too.

Speaking at a news conference in Tokyo, Bae and Choi also spoke of the difficulties they have had doing the voice-overs for their characters, highlighting the differences between acting in front of the camera and behind a microphone.

"I feel as if I've gone back to seven years ago," the 37-year-old Bae said, looking back to the time when the original drama series was first released in South Korea. "I'm thankful that I'm able to feel once again the passion, warmth and happiness of first love which I felt when doing 'Winter Sonata.' "

To compare the real BYJ with the animated one, I have to say that the real one is more beautiful. I was expecting a bishounen Hyung Lee but they really got him perfectly animated!

Glad to see these two together again after so many years.

Bae Yong Joon expressed: “Thanks to the blessing from everyone that I was able to go back seven years ago to feel the Winter Sonata’s first love, warmth and happiness. For that I am really very happy.”Choi Ji Woo said: “I have deep feelings in this seven years. I hope to bring joy and happiness to the people who like ‘Yu Jin’ in Winter Sonata.”

Seven years. Wow. The drama was popular in Japan as well as here in my country particularly among moms. Mom religiously watched this too but why can't I when I'm also a sucker for romance? (~__^)

The anime Winter Sonata consists of a total of 26 episodes and each series is 30 minutes which will be broadcast on Sky PerfecTV starting Oct. 17.

I sooo can't wait for the pilot episode! Oh well, who wouldn't want to miss Yon-sama and Ji Woo-hime?

Inuyasha: The Final Act to Debut in Asia

Inuyasha: The Final Act to Debut in Asia on October 10

The television channel Animax has announced that it will premiere the 26-episode Inuyasha: The Final Act anime series across Asia on October 10 — one week after the Japanese premiere on October 3. Southeast Asia, the Philippines, and South Asia will premiere the anime on that day at 8:00 p.m., while WIB will start the anime at 7:00 p.m. Hong Kong will run the series at 7:30 p.m., and Taiwan will debut it at 11:30 p.m.

Inuyasha: The Final Act continues beyond where the first anime series ended and adapts the story from the final 21 compiled book volumes of Rumiko Takahashi's original manga. (Takahashi had ended the manga in the Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in June of 2008.) The original staff and cast will reunite for the new anime adaptation, and the musical acts Do as Infinity and AAA will perform the "Kimi ga Inai Mirai" ("A Future Without You") opening theme song and the "With You" ending theme song, respectively. The North American distributor Viz Media announced at Comic-Con International in July that it acquired the rights to Inuyasha: The Final Act.

Anime Movie Rebirth of Buddha to Hit Theaters in October

Here's one anime that I would not like to see because it's totally fiction but pretty interesting. Honestly I just wan to watch it because of its animation. Happy Science.

The controversial religious organization Happy Science (Kōfuku no Kagaku) is sponsoring the October 17 release of the anime film adaptation of The Rebirth of Buddha (Buddha Saitan) book by its founder, Ryuho Okawa. The film illustrates Happy Science's belief that the religious figure Buddha will return "when the world sinks into darkness." Takaaki Ishiyama (Sakura Wars, MapleStory, Chaos;HEAd) is directing the project at Group TAC. Ami Koshimizu leads a cast that also includes Hiroyuki Yoshino, Takehito Koyasu, Kotono Mitsuishi, and Ryoko Shiraishi.

Happy Science had previously sponsored three movies (The Laws of the Sun, The Golden Laws, The Laws of Eternity) based on the writings of its founder, as well as Hermes - Winds of Love and a film about Nostradamus. The group fielded 17 candidates for Japan's legislature earlier this year — including Kindaichi Case Files manga artist Fumiya Sato in the home district of the current prime minister and self-professed manga fan, Tarō Asō.

Yukio Okada's Motel Manga Gets Seaside Motel Film

A live-action Seaside Motel film adaptation of Yukio Okada's Motel manga has been green-lit with lead actor Toma Ikuta (Hanazakari no Kimitachi e: Ikemen Paradise, Akihabara @ DEEP) from the Johnny's Jr. idol talent firm. As the film's title implies, the story is set in a motel called Seaside. Brought together by chance, a number of young men and women check into the motel and cross paths. Ikuta will play Kameda, a salesman peddling a fake cosmetic cream. Kumiko Asou (Casshern, Yunagi City, Sakura Country, Ring Ø: Birthday) will co-star as Candy, a call girl in her 20s, with whom Kameda falls in love.

Okada serialized the manga in Nihonbungeisha's Bessatsu Manga Goraku magazine, and it was compiled into one book volume last year. Kentarō Moriya is directing his first feature film after his debut outing in the school comedy School Daze (no relation to Spike Lee's film of the same name). Filming on Seaside Motel began in Guam on August 30, and the film will open in Japan next year.

Yukio Okada's manga "MOTEL" is being turned into a live-action film, starring popular young actor Toma Ikuta (24). This is Ikuta's second movie role, after the Osamu Dazai adaptation "Ningen Shikkaku" ("No Longer Human") which is scheduled for release next year...

The manga is full of distinctive characters, but none of the film's supporting cast have been announced, other than stage actors Masaaki Akahori and Seiji Nozoe, playing a pair of cops.

"Seaside Hotel" is being directed by Kentaro Moriya, whose only other feature-length film is the 2005 picture "School Daze." ...

TVXQ Feuds with SM Entertainment

This news has been bothering me, well, not only me but the whole K-Pop industry. I haven't slept well since the other day and right now I'm dying. But... as they say, I'll "always keep the faith." And hell no there's going to be a divorce between Jaejoong & Yunho! LOL

Three of the five members of K-pop group TVXQ are creating a stir by taking legal action against their management agency. Hero, Micky and Xiah submitted Friday to the Seoul Central District Court an application for provisional disposition to terminate the validity of their contract with SM Entertainment, Yonhap News reported Saturday. Max and U-Know did not take part in the legal action.

``We confirmed that the three members' request for provisional disposition was submitted on the 31st,'' a staff member of SM Entertainment told Yonhap News. ``We are very surprised and regretful but are trying our best to understand the situation.''

Reports of dissension started circulating about a month ago. The three members were said to have conflicting interests with SM regarding their private business endeavors in the makeup industry. Max and U-Know, meanwhile, had been busy pursuing individual acting careers in TV soaps in addition to their work with the group.

This raised concern among fans about the group's potential break up. ``This is a typical problem concerning contracts in the entertainment industry and I cannot provide further details,'' the lawyer in charge of the case, identified as Im, was quoted as telling Yonhap News.

One source related to the entertainment business said that typically, conflicts of this nature are difficult to mend. ``The five members of TVXQ have been split into two groups, and the agency that fostered them is upset, and normally it's difficult to reconcile.''

But despite rumors of disbandment, SM Entertainment maintains that the band, at the height of its career, should continue performing, saying ``TVXQ is a group that represents Asia and we believe that their career should continue. We hope to figure things out soon.''

The five singers appeared all together, as planned, at Japan's A-Nation concert Saturday. They are also expected to perform Thursday at a fireworks festival in Tokyo and at SM Entertainment's SM Town Live 2009 Concert, Aug. 16 in Seoul.

TVXQ debuted in 2004 with the album ``Hug'' and shot to stardom in Korea, Japan and other parts of Asia. Their subsequent albums were well received and their fourth album, ``Mirotic,'' released last year, sold 500,000 copies here despite sluggishness in the Korean record market.

In Japan, the group has topped the Oricon daily singles chart six times and recently gave a concert at the Tokyo Dome, which is regarded as a top-tier venue. They also have staunch fan bases in China, Taiwan and Thailand.

It's going to be the 35th birthday of Japan's most loved kitty & the most famous cat in the world, Hello Kitty! ^__^
Ahhh~ It makes me think of going to Japan more & more.

Before when I want to get something from my parents, I just stumped my feet & threw tantrums but that can't be applicable now. I have to device a mutualistic strategy. But I really want these goods sooo sooo badly that I have to blog them just in case my mom wants a presentation.(^_~) It's her fault. She has always bought me Hello Kitty (in pink! I hate too much of pink!) before since she was a huge fan but now I dunno.

What I love about this line is that HK tied up with Naoto Oka, a famous designer, artist & musician in Japan to create these unusual & very unique stuffs! It's sooooo kawaaaaiiii! It's not the usual pink Kitty! With it's fashion punk-gothic-loli-like theme, I'm sure Jaejoong will also choose this line with his manner of taste. LOL

But no matter how much I would like to have these veeery veeery cuuuute items, it's almost impossible since only stores in Japan are selling them. And what's worse is that these are limited edition too. TT__TT

Gods Rising in the Land of the Rising Sun

The boy group who has taken my heart, Tohoshinki, held their first solo concert at the Tokyo Dome last July 4 and 5. Of course as one of their fangirls, I did not want to miss updates of this dream-come-true concert of theirs. I mean, heck, they wanted this since their debut! So it's about four years in the making.

I was not able to witness how these guys grew throughout the years but I was able to catch up with the fandom. (Thanks to the Cassies who are constantly uploading videos in YouTube even if they were suspended for the nth time. I want to say, "Hwaiting!" to them.) Having seen how they went through the hardships of being foreigners & the difficulties of building a name in Japan by starting all over again, I felt the same happiness that the boys are indulging now.

It was amazing how Tohoskinky's (that's what I call them) 4th Live Tour: The Secret Code was able to draw 100,000 people in just two days and the tickets were sold within thirty minutes! How historical is that?!? This just proved how this group's star power quality stirred the Japanese. Out of a total of 21 concerts around nine cities in Japan, it's just a shame I never got to attend any of them. (As if I'm living in Japan. LOL)

My dolphinee Xiah, my mickey Micky, my visual shock Hero, my food thief Max and my charismatic U-Know, fired up the concert with "Secret Game'' and continued with smash hits like "Doushitte Kimi No Suki Ni Natte Shimattandarou,'' "Purple Line" and "Mirotic.'' They sang about 32 songs in each of these three-hour and 20-minute two-day shows. The Tokyo Dome concert is so special that the members also presented separate solo performances, from Changmin's "Wild Soul", to a very very special duet made by my favorite pair, the BFF pair, Jaejoongie & Yoochunnie― "Colors-- Melody and Harmony''. Ahhh~! *heaven* I felt my heart melt when Hero & Micky sang their number with eyes locked on each other with smiling eyes & charming grins. They really made wonderful melody & harmony in that song. (Ok enough of my fangirling.)

"It still feels very real to us, all these concert series. Especially the finale at Tokyo Dome, we still can feel the after effect of it. We are really touched as we had been already talking about having performances at Tokyo Dome among members ever since we first advanced to Japan. Thus to achieve that goal, we worked hard… and now, to stand on stage thinking of the 50,000 audiences who were singing and breathing with us, I felt really happy as we united our heart as one.” These are one of the reasons why I love these guys. Their words just bothers me a lot but in a good way.

The boys also went in for a surprise when the "Red Ocean"...

How sweet.

Popular Japanese newspapers wrote articles about the concert, stating that the ``Korean group is in the middle of the Japanese music industry'' and that Tohoshinki hit the ``triple 300,000,'' which includes selling more than 300,000 copies of their single (Stand By You), 300,000 copies of their official album (The Secret Code) and finally drawing more than 300,000 fans to their concerts.

This concludes the battle between my Korean lover Jae & my Japanese lover Jun. I really have to choose one. Now I can truly say that I give my heart fully to Hero Youngwoong Kim Jaejoong, the androgynous Korean dork who speaks Japanese and only plays badminton for a sport. How lame is that?

But the blessings never stopped raining for Tohoshinki as they had their first commercial inside the Japanese market. They collaborated with actress Aya Ueto (in one of my favorite movies Azumi) which created a humorous theme for Oronamin C's ad. It's one of the famous carbonated drink in there where popular stars like those in the Kamen Rider series also appeared. Even I found myself laughing with only a few Japanese words to spare.

With all the success they have right now, I can only hope that they will continue to keep their feet on the ground. Since it's not really their own ground. Others think that Koreans are in Japan just for the yen. Well, we cannot hide that fact but through that we can see who's in for the Tohoshinki as musicians or the Tohoshinki as idols. Personally, Tohoshinki as musicians weigh more than them appearing in shows and I bet it's what the boys prefer most. Music is my life & so are theirs. There are Japanese fans who are very loyal to their boy bands even if their idols cannot really sing an acapella as beautifully as Tohoskinky. This is what's referring to the groups more as idols.

What's Buzzin' Bumblebee?

I'm a busy bee these days although not particularly on something formal. But on things that I really really would like to do.

For one, A Korean guy who speaks Japanese is inspiring me to finish my lessons.
I am such a hard-headed but it seems like he keeps calling me,
"Nihonggo... Nihonggo...Nihonggo... Desu, Sherry. Aishiteru..."
But he's too noisy singing Doushite inside my head. O__o

I am sooo sooo nervous for my babies. They are going to do a concert in THE Tokyo Dome!
Finally, their long-awaited dream to have their own TD concert will come true.
But man, there will be a lot of people attending!
I hope everything will go smoothly in the 4th & 5th of July.
That's three to four days before my birthday!

I am soo into this Jdorama these days.
I wanna bet Tohoshinki is watching downloads on this too since Takuya Kimura is the main lead!
And I like him too!
I love his role as a neuroscientist who helps solving crimes in complicated thing.
Every episode makes me say, "Amazing."
I find it as a dorky version of CSI and it's already a hit!
BIG Japanese stars will be doing appearances too which is something to look forward to in each episode.

She stars in another romantic comedy somewhat similar to Hana Kimi.
She's still surrounded by beautiful boys! ^__^

The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love?

I cannot forget this anime because this is where my romance for mecha started. If I could remember, I watched it when I was about three from our Betamax unsubbed! Well... I don't understand a word they have said but what I love were the "airplanes". The more I fell for it when my mom urged me to play Macross in our family computer and finish the levels. She said she liked the theme song. Shao Fai Long indeed is an incurable disease! I can still hum it until now. Even dad remembers this anime. Weird...

Now this anime will have its 25 anniversary so I thought about watching it all over. (Men wore bell-bottoms and so are the men in animes. haha Talking about revolving fashion.)

"The film revolves three chief characters, Hikaru Ichijyo (a hot-shot pilot), coquettish pop-star Lynn Minmay and the Fortress' first mate Misa Hayase. This story is framed by a war between humans and the alien Zentradi over possession of the space fortress Macross, which harbors tens of thousands of human civilians from Macross City. Crew and civilians know Earth was attacked but do not know the fate of the humans on Earth. However, it is revealed that the all-male Zentradi are fighting a war against their female counterparts: the Meltlandi; both genders, bred for war, are eventually stricken by their contact with Protoculture (human culture), particularly due to music and love.

Do You Remember love? begins in media res with the SDF-Macross trying to evade the Zentradi at the edge of the solar system. The Space Fortress houses an entire city with tens of thousands of civilians who are cut off from Earth. During the latest assault, Valkrie pilot Ichijo Hikaru rescues pop idol Lynn Minmei. Naruto gave a very nice greeting for Minato. Well, that's just right for him. I would also punch my dad if he left me with a Jinchuu sealed in my stomach!

Parents are sooo annoying when they are right. Lucky for Naruto to have one veeeerry kind and handsome dad. ^__^

Gundam 00 S2 Episode 21 The Door of Innovation

This the time for another Gundam 00 review. My fingers are already sweaty.

While Setsuna is still having remorse over his incident with Anew, Lockon had his gun pointed at him his back & made him quite uneasy. Good thing Lockon put his anger over the A-Laws instead. (That's the way it should be, honey! *mwah* Don't get angry, you have me!)

In the meanwhile, the Katharon are still scattered with Marina as refugees fleeing from the countryside. They are also hoping that Marina's song will reach poeple's hearts & stop these conflicts.

Also Nena Trinity is up with her phychotic meanderings again and killed the Wang siblings...

Bye bye Liu Mei. I never liked you.

But also unfortunate as Nena's fate since... (I am putting it into Almark Ribbons words) her "judgement is on the way". Louise Halevy happened to be assigned in this mission and spotted the same Gundam Thrown (Zwei) that killed her parents. The Thrown was crushed just like crab pincing a matchstick. Poor Nena. Her brothers are still not avenged. (What comes around goes around, my dear.)

Louise was able to get her revenge though she still seeks out the approval of her dead parents. I guess she is still hurting. I tell you, Louise, revenge is never enough.

In another scene, Mr. Bushido and Setsu were in a match fighting for who will be the best pilot for GN-0000. as Ribbons really has a thing for Setsu's Gundam. They activated their Trans-Am modes and then collided to find again in the Gundam 00's quanta...

And to the surprise, Setsuna F. Seiei is turning into an Innovator!

Now that leads me to the question, is this part of Aeolia Schehernberg's plan? Did he already know this was coming? Or is it the constant fighting that led Setsu to transform?

What would I do if my parents were Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie?

I was watching the Oscars last week and I was awestruck by the stars. They were twinkling with their glamorous designer clothes, gathered up in one event and made a picturesque galaxy. But the most shining of all the stars there are twin stars--Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie. Well they are not really twins but they are just as shining bright as each other & one cannot be as without each other.

So I was thinking, what if my parents were Brad and Angelina. I mean real biological parents. Now they are having many kids, I think five or so, what if I was one of them?

Maybe I will be chased by the paparazzi all the time or maybe my pictorial will be worth millions to be in a magazine. Now of course my parents will be suing tabloids if these writers will write fictitious stories and those who will invade our privacy. Mommy & daddy would not probably care about too much attention but it would be awkward for me as I do not like to be in the spotlight. I would just lock myself in my room in our Beverly Hills mansion then play the latest PC games in a high-end computer. Mommy would not be there getting angry with me not doing my homework but a lot of tutors & helpers will be watching & reporting. Family day in school will be very great! It would be in a private school, of course & I would be proud to show off Mr. Legends of the Fall and Mrs. Tomb Raider!

It would probably be a spoon-fed life but I know that mommy & daddy would teach me virtues since they have always been active in giving aides to other countries. I would be very lucky to have adopted brothers & sisters from different cultures. Going to sleep with them will always be amusing.

I heard that Brangelina are a sweet couple but not lovey-dovey & I like that. It is good to see your parents loving not through but real action. What kind of action? We will just leave it to them.

Now what would happen when they will divorce? Well… sorry, mommy. I am a daddy’s girl. I will go with daddy Brad. (Weee!) As he confessed to Oprah that he prefers girls. I imagine my parents fighting then it will come up like a scene in Mr. & Mrs. Smith where they starred at. Bullets & knives will be on air, punching holes through the walls and the make out sex will be great! Now that will be exaggerating but that would be the coolest think in the world.

My imagination is still working great. I am sure that as of this moment, the parents-wannabe of my imagination are still as shiny as ever not knowing I wrote a blog about them.

It's not exactly a TiVo, and it's only capable of storing over-the-air TV (and in its current form, just European digital broadcasting protocols), but the BlobBox from Telsey and TVBlob has an impressive list of talents stashed in a single plastic case:

• BitTorrent searching and downloading (plus downloading via HTTP and FTP)
• YouTube playback and uploading
• Miro for podcast management
• DVB-T over-the-air dual tuner, for watching and recording at same time
• Support for DivX, Xvid, WMV, MP4, MOV, ASF and (soon) MKV
• Web browsing
• Access to Flickr and other photo sites for viewing
• UPnP and USB connectivity for accessing content on other devices
• HDMI output for true 1080p viewing

It's only got a 160GB hard drive, and not only does it just work on European DVB-T broadcasts, but it doesn't have anything like a CableCard either, and given the fact that the company is based in Italy with few or no US distribution, there's probably no plan for that either.

The Gundam mania continues. As I was just surfing the web, I've found the meisters "seiyuu"s or dubbers.

Setsuna's seiyuu is kinda cute. He also voices as Light Yagami in Death Note.

Lockon's dubber also voices Allen Schezar in Escaflowne.

Allelujiah's seiyuu voices Yoshimori in Kekkaishi.

Tiera's dubber is already 34 years old but he did Honey & Clover's Yuuta.

This movie really hooked me up to the very last end. I was stuck on it like glue. I thought it was just another samurai film but it was more than I thought it should. It shows what it was in a life of a Shinsen-gumi samurai, the mastery, the art, the bushido--everything, although there is some oddity in it. It is just so hard to imagine, or maybe I was not used to it, that no matter how masculine those samurais are, they would still fall and kill for a female-looking guy!

This is really an exceptional film. With a hot samurai, real-looking intense fighting scenes and a unique love story, I am giving it a 9.5/10. I am not recommending it for homophobes because they might find this very disturbing.

I like the character Kano. He is a beautiful samurai. Beautiful meaning a perfect samurai, well--almost. I love a cold, heartless and beautiful samurai with no hesitations to kill which is exactly what Kano is. He also reminds me of Sojiro Seta (also my favorite) from Samurai X who smiles like the warmth of the sun outside but a cold bloody heartless killer in the inside.

Man, I love those looong tied locks. Ryuhei Matsuda's tempting me. (Congratulations for his wedding and for his upcoming baby. ^__^)

Naruto Shippuuden Episode 98

As for this week's episode, Naruto was able to complete his water sync jutsu with the frogs and was able to use it to rescue Hinata from Guren.

In the meanwhile, Orochimaru's plan to summon the 3-tailed Jinchuu is almost concrete...

These filler episodes are confusing me. Why cannot they just make this story make a wee bit shorter?

Gundam 00 S2 Episode 20 Anew Returner

I like Gundams but for the time being, Gundam 00 is my most favorite. I have just finished watching episode 20 and this may probably one of the most romantic and emotional episode of the series yet.

The Celestial Being has found out that Anew is an Innovator and thus engaging them with a fight. Lockon's feelings get in the way of executing Anew. This made Setsuna promise that if Lockon cannot pull the trigger then he will. Lockon's reasons not to fight Anew is greater than to, as what Setsuna said.

Unfortunately, things got tangled up in the encounter and Setsuna ended up killing Anew. Lockon and Anew were able to communicate one's thoughts and feelings to each other by Gundam 00's "magical stardust" from its solar furnace.

Ending is, Lockon made Setsu a punching bag. But Setsu did nothing back. It's just that he understands what his friend is feeling at that moment. Even if Tiera or Allelujiah will stop him, it will not change anything back. They let him vent on Setsuna.

I hate to see my baby Lockon crying. (His Gundam is my most favorite of all. I have always wanted a sniper gundam. ^__^) He is just too beautiful to see him crying like that. I wish i could have put his arms around him, comfort him or anything that pleases him.

So I wonder what's next? Is it going to be him and Feldt or what? I'm sooo excited in his love life.
